Coming as absolutely no surprise to anyone everything will begin as it basically always does with the absolutely wonderful experience that is AMereKat
Goth’s favourite Ukulele botherer will once again captivate, amuse and open the festival with aplomb. Somehow it just wouldn’t seem right without them.
Their ability to get the party started as it were, not with a bang so much as perhaps a mood is quite remarkable. Offering both significant mirth and at other times utterly heartfelt emotivity (is that even a word? – Ed) there’s nothing quite like the Amerekat experience.
What do they do if you don’t know? Well mostly it tends to be Ukulele based covers or rather reworkings of well known songs, frequently from the Goth scene, but then they do offer incredible feels with such as the lockdown infused original “You Can’t Catch Covid From Tears”. Last year at our request, knowing their star trek obsession, we were delightfully treated to a song about Q. (Not anon mind, the star trek entity, obv).
This is always just the perfect way to begin things in the most wonderful way.
And another announcement today (and we’ll leave it there for now..)

Dierotica – a decidedly new band that we’ve been hugely impressed with. When it comes to presenting what may be described as Goth sound we absolutely feel Dierotica nail it. Their incredible sound mixing a bit of shoegaze in with the gothy style is utterly incredible.
They are based in Manchester and to our knowledge at this time haven’t made an appearance outside there (which in the coming months may change) and we really think they are going to be very very much in demand soon. So this may indeed be a great opportunity to catch them in a more intimate setting.
You can enjoy a video of when they performed for us in manchester here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZInFZl9Gkk
